After successfully completing UWF’s Athletic Master Plan, The University of West Florida commissioned EMO/ARCHITECTS, INC. (EMO) to update the University’s Campus Master Plan. The process was the result of a collaborative effort led by the University’s Planning Task Force and the Master Planning Team. The Master Plan Update incorporated ideas generated through the series of on-site meetings and workshops held with students, faculty, staff, and community leadership. EMO collaborated with these groups to elicit their ideas and perceptions of the University’s existing campus conditions, its future needs, and to gain insight on their vision for the future of the University. The planning strategy was to plan for future facilities as a means to enhance student life and to create a sense of place that will serve to socially and spatially define the campus.
