COLLEGE

TARPON SPRINGS CAMPUS

MASTER PLAN

St. Petersburg College commissioned EMO/ARCHITECTS, INC. to develop a College-Wide Campus Master Plan that comprehensively addressed both the academic and facilities planning needs of their campus. The Master Planning effort undertaken for the St. Petersburg College Tarpon Springs campus shall serve as the foundation for long-range solutions and plan implementation guidelines for the campuses’ future growth. The urban environment of the campus presented many unique challenges which required careful consideration, including the condition of existing facilities, a blending of the built and natural environment, and the pressures and challenges of increasing the density of development on the campus while remaining true to its coastal community roots. One of the primary purposes of the Campus Master Plan was to establish a cohesive, urban, pedestrian-friendly atmosphere while reducing the perceived dominance of automobiles in and around the campus. The SPC’s Campus Master Plan is the essential tool for the long-term development of the College.
