EMO was retained by the University of West Florida to renovate their existing 50-meter competition pool and natatorium. As the Architect of Record, EMO had the responsibility of overseeing project coordination and design meetings with the facility user groups, assisting with compliance of the construction budget, completing the design and contract document phase services, coordinating with the construction manager for value engineering and guaranteed maximum price, and providing construction administration phase services. The swimming pool renovations include an upgraded deck-level perimeter gutter system, a new state-of-the-art filtration system, and a plaster finish with ceramic tile lane markings.  New deck equipment was installed, including 1-meter and 3-meter springboard diving stands, starting platforms, water polo goals, lifeguard chairs, and an ADA accessible pool lift.  In addition to these upgrades, the pool main drains have been modified to become compliant with the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act.
