UNIVERSITY

HONOR

HOUSE

EMO/ARCHITECTS, INC. provided Architectural Services for the renovation of the Florida A & M University Honor House Facility.  The 5,000 GSF building was constructed in the 1950's as a dormitory for honor students attending FAMU.  Over the years the facility was converted into office space.  The scope of the work was to provide a complete design upgrade for the conversion of the facility into usable office space. The overall scope of work included replacement of existing exterior windows and doors, as well as, the installation of new interior doors, windows and finishes.  The renovations included interior design to meet the Florida Accessibility Code. Existing restroom facilities and accessible routes were completely redesigned and renovated.  The electrical and HVAC systems were demolished and new high efficiency systems were installed.  The new HVAC system was connected to the University steam and chilled water utility system. New telephone/data systems were designed as part of the up-grade as well as fiber optics.
